WHO SHOULD APPLY?

  • Existing furniture manufacturing and woodworking businesses.
  • Entrepreneurs with viable furniture, woodworking or related business opportunities.
  • Businesses committed to the full 12-month incubation programme.
  • Entrepreneurs serious about building sustainable and growing enterprises.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
• Attend the Information Session on 31 August 2026.
• Complete the entrepreneurial assessment.
• Complete the incubation application form issued to attendees.
• Certified ID copy/ies of applicant(s)/owner(s).
• Letter of motivation and proof of address.
• Current CV and business profile.
• Business registration and other supporting documents requested on the application form.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and committed applicants for the Wood Machining & Cabinet Making NQF Level 2 furniture-making skills development programme. The programme is focused on developing practical and occupational skills for the furniture manufacturing sector.

REQUIREMENTS
• South African citizen;
• Minimum Grade 10 pass with Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy;
• Willingness to work and develop a career/business in the woodworking and furniture industry;
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn, participate and be developed, and physically fit individuals;
• Submit a recently certified copy of ID (not older than 3 months);
• Submit a CV;
• Submit copies of all relevant qualifications, including schoolleaving certificate; and
• Proof of address.

WHAT THE PROGRAMME OFFERS
• Wood Machining & Cabinet Making NQF Level 2 skills development programme over 14 weeks on a full-time basis.
• A Two-Day Bootcamp/selection process for shortlisted applicants before final selection.
• Practical and structured training towards Wood Machining & Cabinet Making NQF Level 2,
• Seventy (70%) practicals and thirty (30%) theory

Key Responsibilities:
• Managing reception area, visitors and switchboard
• Compiling and Managing learner/incubatee records
• Centre invoicing and purchasing
• Coordination and scheduling of Meetings
• Management of the Centre domestic assistant
• General office administration

Requirements:
• Matric (Pass in Maths/Maths Literacy)
• Admin qualification advantageous
• 2+ years admin experience
• MS Office proficiency
• Excellent communication
• Valid driver’s licence
